The Steiner School Certificate – an Alternative Secondary Qualification

On Tuesday 17th June at 7pm, Norwich Steiner School is hosting a talk by Karen Brice-Geard about an alternative secondary qualification called the Steiner School Certificate (SSC).  The SSC is a 3 year course, developed originally in New Zealand and tailored to the Steiner curriculum and which can be enrolled on by pupils when they are 15 or 16 years of age.

At the end of three years, pupils receive a formal accredited Level 3 qualification, which is most similar to the International Baccalaureate, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the course.  

Karen, a former Principal of the state funded Steiner Schools in New Zealand, had a key role in developing this new qualification. She is visiting the School for 3 days to carry out training which will allow Norwich Steiner School to offer the SSC course and qualification from September 2014.  Karen is renowned from being an inspiring speaker.

There is a £2 entry fee to the talk.  Whilst pre-booking is not essential, it is helpful to our planning if those intending to come  contact the school in advance to book a seat.
